#9 Vento looks like an eye-catching talent ready to make an impression early. He clearly has ability off the back of his workouts and the booking of Zac Purton enhances this claims. #10 Dragon Baby won well on debut over this course and distance last term. He looks like he’s slowly returned to a bit of form. #2 Flying Dragon has done well across his only two starts in Hong Kong. Expect further improvement. #3 Eight Trigrams is next best.
Race 2: Panasonic IH Warm Jar Handicap
#11 London Luckystar slots in light and has proven his worth on the dirt previously. Surprising he isn't a winner already but nevertheless, he gets another chance here, especially if he’s ridden cold for a strong finish. #7 Fairy Floss loves the dirt. Don’t discount him albeit with a touch more weight to carry. #3 Hang’s Decision rocketed home last time out. Expect another strong finish. #4 Solar Power can find the front and play catch me if you can. He’s next best.
Race 3: Panasonic OLED TV Handicap
#7 Flying Mighty has been competitive up in grade and getting out to 10-furlongs now looks incredibly ideal. He covered a stack of ground last start and off that run is worth forgiving. Expect sharp improvement here with Chad Schofield engaged. #2 Ezra rarely runs a bad race. His consistency holds him in good stead. #4 Joyful Heart draws favourably. He did well last start over this course and distance when missing by a half-length. #10 Red Elysees is capable in this grade. Don’t discount.
Race 4: Panasonic Steam Oven Handicap
#6 This Is Charisma was blocked for a run in the straight last start which cost him the race. He looks like he’ll relish the added distance on offer and with even luck he is the one to beat. #3 Success Allstars returns with no trials under his belt. Expect he’s held his condition then, especially as a two-time winner from his last three starts. #8 Diamond Star closed strongly last time out. He deserves another chance as he gets up in distance. #4 Jimmu mixes his form but he is assigned Joao Moreira which is a plus.
Race 5: Panasonic Japan Made System Kitchen Handicap
#3 Chicken Dance appears to have returned to form. His setbacks look like a thing of the past following his fast-closing effort for fourth last time out. He’s a winner in the grade above and with a clean bill of health, he can take this contest out. #7 Pins Prince steps out on debut. He’s looked sound in his workouts and shouldn’t discounted for the in-form John Size yard. #2 Good News has ability and appears capable of another step forward. #4 Pegasus Glory should improve second-up. Include.
Race 6: Panasonic Nanoe Hair Dryer Handicap
#2 Flying Victory is closing in on another win. He ran well last start to log an improved third place and with two runs under his belt now, he shapes as the one they have to beat. He looks ready to peak. #10 Millennium Falcon closed off nicely last start for fourth and a first win is very close. Only query is the awkward gate. #3 Viva Hunter draws well and was a strong winner three starts ago. He can bounce back. #13 Best For You is a solid operator. He can figure.
Race 7: Panasonic Cup Handicap
#6 Lucky Express appears well handicapped for this contest. He slots right in the middle of this first-up test following a solid campaign last term. Zac Purton takes the mount and his latest trial was sharp. He’s worth taking a chance on. #9 Fantastic Treasure is a super talent. He’s had the benefit of one run already this term and is an excellent chance to take this out. #4 Excellent Proposal has a sublime turn-of-foot. Don’t discount. #1 Buddies can roll forward and give them something to run down.
Race 8: Panasonic Futon Dryer Handicap
#5 Ultra Express is an impressive talent. He’s a three-time winner from 10 starts who looks capable of enhancing that record further. Expect improvement following his first-up effort on the dirt last month. #4 True Legend is a consistent sort. He’ll box on close to the speed and test this bunch in the finish. #2 Elite Patch was solid when fourth last time out. He usually takes a few runs to get going and does remain the value play here. He’s worth an each way ticket. #9 Skyey Supreme will get his chance in the lead.
Race 9: Panasonic 6-Door Refrigerator Handicap
#2 The Golden Scenery finished second to the unbeaten Master Eight last time out. That form bodes well for this contest as he bids for a first win in town. #5 War Weapon has a stack of ability. He’s looked solid in his trials and while difficult, this contest appears to be a very good starting point for him. Joao Moreira rides. #1 Packing Victory is on the cusp of a Class 2 berth. He’s unbeaten but with more weight following that narrow win he could well come unstuck here. #8 Birdsville has shown some early toe. Next best.
Race 10: Panasonic Thermo Ventilator Handicap
#1 Amazing One Plus returns favourably to Class 3. He should have race-fitness under his belt now and the inside draw suits. His class prior to import should carry him a long way here. #9 Master Hero just has to defy the wide draw to be a player here. Expect an on-pace effort from him with Joao Moreira engaged. #10 Sauvestre is open to further improvement after finishing a game third last start. #2 Cobhfield has shown plenty of ability early on. Expect a solid first-up effort.
