Race 1: Kam Tin Handicap
#9 Moneymore is a two-time winner already this campaign and he’s capable of grabbing a third here. He draws well and gets a handy seven-pound claim from apprentice Jerry Chau. #3 Winning Strikes makes the step down to Class 5 which suits. He’ll relish racing in the weaker grade. #4 All Best Friends is competitive in his spot. Zac Purton hops up which bears close watching. #2 Destine Jewellery is more than capable of reversing his form here and bouncing back to his best.
Race 2: Mai Po Handicap
#3 United We Stand steps out for the in-form Danny Shum yard. He’s a solid performer down the straight who should prove difficult to catch with the stand-side draw. #2 Sell My Sole rarely runs a bad race. He can figure at his second try down the straight. #11 Bella Baby slots in light for Alexis Badel and Chris So. He’s a two-time winner from his last four starts and his best can test this lot. #6 Figures Two is next best on debut.
Race 3: Yuen Long Handicap
#6 Sea Of Life is looking for his third consecutive win. He faces Class 2 for the first time but he’s on the up and might be worth taking a chance on as he continues to progress rapidly. #2 Circuit Three is the in-form horse as a winner in this grade start. He’s the main danger. #7 The Rock gets in light and is consistent in his spot. #1 Preciousship is looking to recapture his best form from last season. He gets his chance as his rating continues to slip.
Race 4: Lau Fau Shan Handicap
#2 Super Red Dragon is racing well and with plenty of merit. He can hop back into the winner’s arch here. #1 Pegasus Glory is a talent but has struggled at his most recent two outings. The step back into Class 4 does suit and he’s capable of bouncing back to form. #12 Voyage Star slots in light from the good gate. He could prove difficult to run down. #3 Glenealy Generals is consistent and deserves respect.
Race 5: Hung Shui Kiu Handicap
#1 Jade Theatre is racing well and has shown significant improvement across his last two runs on the dirt. #7 Dragon Commander is yet to win but is racing well. He draws a touch awkwardly but the booking of Joao Moreira bears close watching. #4 Treasure Chest won well two starts ago. He draws well and is capable of getting back into the winner’s arch. #11 Proud Sky is next best.
Race 6: Lam Tei Handicap
#2 Unite Spirit is closing in on a first win and with even luck he looks more than capable of going one better here. #1 Deal Maker steps down in grade. He draws a touch awkward but does do his best racing over this course and distance as a two-time winner. #8 So Awesome is another who is closing in on a first win. He’ll find the front and look the winner for a long way. #5 Lady First stretched clear for a comfortable three length success last time out. He’s next best.
Race 7: Nam Sang Wai Handicap
The in-form Danny Shum has #2 Hongkong Great stepping out in search of back-to-back wins. He can find the front from gate one and prove difficult to reel in. #7 Ping Hai Treasure finished second to Hong Kong Great last start. He’s next best with that run under his belt and does also, draw more favourably in gate four rather than gate 12. #8 Party Everyday is nothing short of consistent. He’ll set himself a task from the tail of the field but as always, dis no stranger to reeling off a set of strong closing splits. #9 Nothing New turned his form around last start. He has ability and appears to be progressing well.
Race 8: Tuen Mun Handicap
#3 Mr Lumieres owns a slick personal best over this course and distance. He gets a handy weight relief from apprentice Jerry Chau and does rate strongly as a three-time course and distance winner. #7 Joyful Fortune’s best is brilliant and if he manages to recapture that here, then he is going to be in the thick of things. He’s trialled well between runs and commands respect with Joao Moreira hopping up. #1 Valiant Dream is racing well and although he doesn’t win out of turn, he is consistent and does warrant respect in his spot. #11 Seven Heavens gets the services of Vincent Ho. He’s one for the multiples.
Race 9: Tin Shui Wai Handicap
#10 War Weapon caught the eye in his latest trial and it wouldn’t surprise to see him go on with it here on debut. Joao Moreira takes the reins first-up which is a strong push regarding his early potential. #5 Hinchinlove is competitive in this grade and now, with two runs under his belt this term, it wouldn’t surprise to see him go on with it. #8 Harmony N Blessed is a talent and is looking to atone for a weakening fourth-placed effort last start. He can return to his best. #11 Golfman Star draws well and has claims.
Race 10: Tai Tong Handicap
Alfred Chan is getting close to scoring a first win for his new boss but nevertheless, it could well come here atop #7 The Hulk. He’s racing well and is arguably unlucky to not already be a winner. #3 Beauty Spirit is competitive over this course and distance and it wouldn’t surprise to see him bounce back to his best here. He’s worth taking a chance on in this grade. #11 My Sugar is still on the up and deserves respect down in the weights for Zac Purton. #12 Romantic Combo is racing well and deserves respect.
