Race 1: Frigatebird Handicap 

#5 Sky Gem loves the course and distance. He shapes as the one to beat here, especially if he manages to bring his best after finishing second last time out. #1 Superb Daddy was arrogant when winning last start at Sha Tin. He gets Zac Purton’s services once more as he chases back-to-back wins. #7 Foxhunter Way did well last time out. Expect he can take another step forward here for Vincent Ho, even from a tricky draw. #12 Oh Bravo slots in light and will get every chance. He has claims.  

Race 2: Mesia Handicap  

#12 Amazing News slots in light and is racing with plenty of merit. He gets a favourable draw here which should afford him the run of the race. #11 Sure Win Win gets an ideal gate and should find the right run. He’s knocking on the door and he should be race-fit to perform with two runs under his belt this term. #5 Polaris Winner is better than his record suggests. He looks favoured with a rise in distance. #2 Circuit Spiritanto is capable of bouncing back. Chances are he rolls forward to offset the draw.  

Race 3: Albatross Handicap (1st Section)

#5 Yellowfin is consistent and is also very close to a first win in Hong Kong. He finds favourable conditions here which give him a very good chance of breaking through. #10 Fighting Star has the runs on the board and has been performing soundly this term. He can take another step forward here. #2 Act Of Faith was caught at the rear of the field first-up. Expect if he takes closer order from gate two that he can drastically reverse his form. #1 Exuberant has the draw and pairs favourably with Hugh Bowman. Keep safe.  

Race 4: Albatross Handicap (2nd Section)

#12 E Brother is racing well and will be favoured with no weight on his back from an inside draw. Strong booking of Silvestre de Sousa should ensure he gets every chance here. #9 Happy Soul has a powerful finish and is tracking nicely towards a first win. He caught the eye last start and further improvement holds him in good stead. #11 Happily Friends won well last start and is open to improvement second-up this term. The inside gate is favourable. #1 Durham Star draws well and does his best racing over this course and distance. Keep safe.  

Race 5: The Hong Kong Golf Club Centenary Cup Handicap (3rd Section)

#1 Savvy Chic is chasing back-to-back wins. He was nothing short of impressive last start and is capable of taking another step forward here, especially as he remains in the grade after that effort. #8 Island Shine is in sound form and should be able to make good use of barrier two here. #2 Harmony N Home is nothing short of consistent. The 10lb claim from apprentice Angus Chung is a very big assistance here. #4 Hero Star gets Zac Purton up. Expect he rolls forward for his chance up on the speed.  

Race 6: Nightjar Handicap  

#9 Flying Silver is chasing back-to-back wins. He won well last start and looks to have plenty in hand following that effort. #6 Flying Mojito looks to have a bit of potential. He’s shown flashes across both outings and he does appear capable of taking another big step forward here. Take an each way ticket on him at odds. #12 Owners’ Star slots in light and will get his shot. The wide gate does make things tricky but his recent form is imposing. #3 Rainbow Light is after consecutive wins. He’s in a rich vein of form at the minute.  

Race 7: Robin Handicap  

#2 Special M is consistent and did catch the eye when finishing fourth last time out. Hugh Bowman retains the ride which suits and the draw should afford him every chance to score an overdue third win. #3 Gorgeous Vitality is expected to lead, however, gate 12 might make things difficult for him. He’s looked well ahead of his return and Zac Purton’s booking commands respect. #5 Harmony Fire can improve second-up. His condition will have taken a step forward and his best form holds him in very good stead. #4 California Deeply is chasing back-to-back wins. He appears to have plenty still in the tank.  

Race 8: Sand Martin Handicap  

#7 Prince Alex is improving with each and every run. He looks well placed for this distance after catching the eye late last start when finishing fifth. #6 Gallant Crown is chasing back-to-back wins. This course and distance suits and Karis Teetan knows this horse well. #4 Good Buddy appears to still have plenty of rating points in hand. The draw will give him every opportunity under Hugh Bowman. #3 Gallant Waking is a two-time winner from his last three starts. He’s holding his condition and commands respect here.  

Race 9: Tern Handicap  

#2 Beauty Tycoon is a talent and he’s really starting to fulfill his potential now. Zac Purton sticks aboard which is a plus and the inside draw will afford him every chance to maintain his rise, especially as he remains in Class 3 following his win last start. #12 Jumbo Legend is a two-time winner from the last three starts. He will improve further here. #3 Igniting knows what he’s doing over this course and distance. #9 Gummy Gummy catches the eye on debut. Expect he leads and takes a bit of catching.
