Race 1: Amaryllis Handicap

Tricky contest to open the fixture, however, #7 Forerunner catches the eye on debut for Benno Yung. He’s been tardy out of the gates so far in his trials but has closed off well enough to suggest that he could make an impression on debut. Take a chance on him each way. #6 Devil And Gold did well enough on debut in a race that was rather inconclusive for those settled worse than midfield. He has the ability. #11 Fast Buck will need to overcome the wide gate. He has claims. #2 Happy Won can take another step forward.

Race 2: Cedar Handicap

#4 Go Go Sixteen makes a favourable return to a mile. He’s in sound condition and the step back to a distance he has won over is a big plus. The draw suits. #3 Sunny Baby is racing well and with plenty of merit. He’ll once again pair with Zac Purton as he chases a second win this season. #12 Boys Party mixes his form but is closing in on a first Hong Kong win. He’s worth taking an each way ticket here at what should be decent odds. #11 Turf Brilliant is consistent and with luck can figure once more. Next best.

Race 3: Erica Handicap

#14 Super Highway is doing everything right except win. He’s consistent, ticks a number of boxes once more and should be favoured by the possibility of a hot tempo. #6 Multisuper did well on debut and Lyle Hewitson sticks aboard here. He’s open to further improvement. #1 Golden Bull is looking to snap consecutive runner-up efforts. Zac Purton is up again and he should be able to take another step forward. #4 I Give can fight his rider but chances are he rolls forward to lead regardless. Take an each way ticket.

Race 4: Hibiscus Handicap

#7 Solar Partner can drastically improve here stepping onto the turf. He did well first-up under challenging circumstances and his best form in Hong Kong has previously come over this course and distance. #1 Compassion Spirit is suited to this grade. He has the class-edge and a return to Sha Tin from Happy Valley is an added bonus. #8 Infinite Power can lead and run this group along. He’s much better in this grade and is expected to look like the winner at some stage out in front. #5 Proud Dragon is next best.

Race 5: Holly Handicap

Benno Yung’s record on the dirt this season is unmatched with a 36% win strike rate and #2 All Joyful appears more than capable of enhancing the figure. He was inconclusive first-up at Happy Valley but his recent win on the dirt last season was super impressive. #8 Sun Of Makfi has been competitive on the dirt across his career. Zac Purton retains the ride which is a bonus. #11 Green Laser slots in light and is tracking towards a first win in town. Keep safe under the light weight. #1 Skyey Supreme will take catching.

Race 6: Ivy Handicap

#1 Robot Warrior looks like he’s ready to win again. He turned in an eye-catching effort last start and the step back to Class 4 this weekend is more than suitable. One to beat. #10 Red Elysees could be over the odds and might be worth supporting on an each way basis. He does his best racing under these conditions over a trip. #5 Right As Rain is still winless in Hong Kong. Even still, he’s racing well and commands respect with Hugh Bowman booked. #7 Vincy is ready to win again. Keep safe.

Race 7: Yan Chai Trophy Handicap

#11 Dinkum is improving each time he runs and his latest effort was full of merit when finishing fifth. He was caught without momentum on the rail on a night when the majority of winners came from the middle-to-outside of the home straight. #2 Brilliant Way closed off well first-up. Expect he can improve getting around a bend this weekend with Zac Purton engaged. #6 Solar Winds is chasing back-to-back wins. He was impressive last time out. #13 Texas Moon caught the eye last start. Expect improvement.

Race 8: Pine Handicap

#8 Master Tornado will relish the added furlong this weekend. He had a tough run last start, however, he did still manage to finish off strongly. Expect he can take another step forward here. #3 Winner Method is nothing short of consistent. He should park himself up on the speed and from there get his shot. #11 Golden Artie caught the eye with a big finish last time out. He slots in light here and will get his opportunity from gate four. #14 Let’s Do It is unlucky not to be a winner. He knows what to do and must be kept safe.

Race 9: Spruce Handicap

#2 So We Joy is a fantastic horse on the dirt and he can continue to excel on the surface here. He has the class-edge over a number of these and with luck he shapes as the one to beat. The switch from turf to dirt is the key. #4 Handsome Twelve is a rapidly emerging force on the dirt. Strong booking of Zac Purton once more bears close watching. #1 Chancheng Prince also makes a favourable switch back to the dirt. Expect drastic improvement from him. #13 Yes We Can is racing well and commands respect.

Race 10: Poinsettia Handicap

#14 Tianchi Monster is performing better than his record suggests. He’s been without luck and has endured torrid runs but is still managing to catch the eye or close off with plenty of merit. Chances are he is over the odds here and anywhere close to his best has him figuring. #10 Packing Treadmill is a star on the rise after a hat-trick of wins. Expect him to be in the finish again. #3 Keefy has a tricky draw but his latest win was nothing short of impressive. #6 All For St Paul’s will get his chance in the lead. Keep safe.
