Race 10: #7 Magniac, #4 Beauty Eternal, #8 Hyper Dragon Ball, #1 Jumbo Fortune

Race 1: Daffodil Handicap

#2 Ping Hai Galaxy might be worth taking a chance on. He’s by The Factor who was a G1 winner on dirt. This will be a challenge, however, he’s always trialled well on the surface and if the likely favourite falters then he could easily mop up the pieces. #3 Super Win Dragon is the probable market elect. He’s been imperious this term with three wins from three outings – all on dirt. One to catch but will be very short odds. #1 Ka Ying Master can contend. #4 Astrologer has always trialled well on the dirt. Next best.

Race 2: Orchid Handicap

Expecting #2 Colourful Prince to fire through and lead here. He’s got the gate speed to do so and this should give him every chance to nail a first win. The dirt suits, so does his pairing with Lyle Hewitson. #11 Fortune Marbo is better than his form suggests. His trials on the dirt have been very good. Take an each way ticket. #3 Touch Faith is a winner on the dirt but may find this difficult from gate 12. He does get Zac Purton up to offset this hindrance. #7 Gold Comet is returning to form. He can mount a challenge.

Race 3: Lily Handicap

#4 The Rock had a minor setback recently but his latest work in the mornings has been impressive. He’s no stranger to drastic form reversals and gate one here will give him every chance to do exactly that. #3 All For St Paul’s should find the front and lead this group. He’s tough, tenacious and capable of winning. #2 Running Glory has the class but suspect he’s better over further, however, this isn’t an overly strong field. #1 Excellent Proposal has mixed his form of late but this is a significant dip to what he is used to.

Race 4: Daisy Handicap

Challenging Class 5 contest. #13 Alloy Star is on the quick back-up and he caught the eye flashing into eighth last start. He slots in light which is a huge advantage and he looks like the one to beat here. #14 Raging Blaze has no weight on his back. He’s been improving this season and has shown that he is very, very close to a first win. #3 M M Johnny is in sound form and looking to snap consecutive runner-up efforts. #5 Encore flashed into fifth two runs back. Expect he can reproduce that effort here.

Race 5: Peach Blossom Handicap

#1 Sergeant Pepper has a significant class edge on this group. He returns to the dirt for the first time in a long time but in his favour is that he’s always trialled well on it. The return to Class 4 suits also; he looks well placed. #4 Flying Bonus can lead and from there take a fair bit of running down. He has the speed to do exactly that and even pinch a break on the turn for home. #3 Shining Fortune loves the dirt and is racing well. #11 Son Pak Fu can improve sharply. Big watch here under no weight.

Race 6: Gladiolus Handicap

#10 General Ace was squeezed out of his most recent outing. That was a total forgive run and he is capable of improving here, especially with Vincent Ho sticking aboard. Gate one should see him save ground throughout. #6 Flying Mojito turned his form around to finish a close-up second last start. He’s improving and Zac Purton’s booking bears close watching. #3 Turquoise Alpha is holding his condition and it wouldn’t surprise to see him return to form. #1 Oscar Glory should find the front. He can take running down at times.

Race 7: Rose Handicap

#6 Noble One did well without luck when it mattered last start. Expect he can bounce back here, especially from an outside draw which should afford him the run of the race. #2 Excellent Fighter won on debut in the same race. He looks to have plenty up his sleeve and his pairing with Silvestre de Sousa bodes well for this contest. #9 Prince Of Porty steps out following a number of tidy trials. Zac Purton hops up for his debut and this contest shapes as a suitable starting point. #1 Forte is next best.

Race 8: Cineraria Handicap

#13 Gallant Hero has a powerful finish and he’s shown several times this season that he’s very close to a first win. Dylan Mo hops up this time and the light weight should afford him his opportunity. #2 Forerunner was impressive on debut when winning. He takes a step up in a grade here which will prove tough, however, he does appear above average. #10 Run Run Buddy can improve following a sound effort on debut for second. #3 The Hulk has the class to be winning this. Question is whether he’s in the right vein of form.

Race 9: Azalea Handicap

#4 Five G Patch is the one to beat here after a cracking run at Happy Valley last start. He should be fit, ready to win and take a stack of catching, especially following that effort just last month. #12 Natural Storm is chasing back-to-back wins. The distance is of no concern and the light weight is more than ideal. #10 Hit The Shot does nothing wrong. Expect he fights out yet another finish here. #6 Intrepid Winner mixes his form but is more than capable over 10 furlongs. He has a powerful finish.

Race 10: Peony Handicap

#7 Magniac makes his debut in Hong Kong after impressing in each of his trials. He appears well educated and his trio of wins in Australia were sound. He looks ready to make an immediate impact. #4 Beauty Eternal can be his own worst enemy at times but he is seriously talented. He’s a major player, should he receive the chance to show his best. #8 Hyper Dragon Ball is the each way play of the race. Expect sharp improvement from him at a price. Grab an each way ticket. #1 Jumbo Fortune is next best.
