Race 1: Great George Handicap (2nd Section)
#11 All Is Good finds a suitable contest. He’s been knocking on the door for a while now and the inside draw should ensure he gets every possible chance to break through. #1 Exuberant has the class but needs to piece it all together. He was good for third last start and has shown that another win is nearing. #9 Prime Mortar has hit the ground running. He’s showing improvement with each and every outing. #12 Miracles turned in an impressive second last start. The light weight is a big plus here.
Race 2: Paterson Handicap
#3 Owners’ Star is mixing his form but should improve sharply once more in Class 5. He draws well for Karis Teetan who should ensure he gets every chance. #1 Regency Master is also much better suited in Class 5. He’s in sound condition and will be finishing fast for Matthew Poon. #6 Jubilation narrowly missed last start. The wide gate isn’t ideal but the long run into the straight should afford him enough time to find a spot. #5 Sunny Baby is in form and pairs favourably with Zac Purton. Keep safe.
Race 3: Great George Handicap (3rd Section)
#3 High Cloud is racing well and should relish the step back in trip. He pairs favourably with Karis Teetan who should be able to give him a sweet run in transit from gate four. #8 Melbourne Hall is holding his condition. Hugh Bowman and David Hall have formed a formidable partnership and they’re good fortune can continue here. #2 Hero Star can lead. He usually gets caught late but even still, he’ll give himself every chance. #10 Jazz Steed slots in light and knows what to do at Happy Valley. Keep safe.
Race 4: Cannon Handicap
#2 Handsome Bo Bo maps to get a nice trail behind the leading duo. He can turn his form around at Happy Valley which is where he clearly does his best racing. Expect he’s value and expect a number of these to set a cracking tempo. #1 Whizz Kid is one of these who should roll forward. He’s tough and will take catching. #5 Ping Hai Galaxy is holding his form this season. He gets his chance again. #8 Street Scream is a three-time winner already this term. Strong booking of Vincent Ho commands respect.
Race 5: Great George Handicap (1st Section)
#5 Happy Fat Cat can roll forward and lead. He’s chasing back-to-back wins and the draw here is more than suitable. He remains in Class 4 which suits and his racing pattern always affords him his shot. #10 Happy Soul is in form and so, so close to a first win. He slots in light and will be finishing fast. #3 Momentum Galaxy is solid. He’s been around for a while now but does know exactly what it is all about. #6 Solar Partner can turn his form around. He’s better than what his last start suggests.
Race 6: Kingston Handicap
#6 Palace Pal wasn’t suited to 11 furlongs last time out. He can make an improvement back over this trip, especially based on past performances which has shown this is where he is best suited. #10 Perfect To Great is chasing back-to-back wins. He slots in light and is suited in Class 4. #8 Smiling City is not without his chance. It’s crucial for him that he saves ground throughout, which gate three should afford.#3 Lucky Gold has been knocking on the door for a while now. He can win in this grade soon enough.
Race 7: G3 January Cup
#7 Packing Award is a very, very nice horse and he can turn his form around here following last start. He had a torrid run in transit last start, travelling wide and couldn’t settle throughout. His first-up win is his true form. #5 Cheerful Days has been building for this contest nicely. He caught the eye last start and should improve once more. #2 Money Catcher can lead. He placed at Group 1 level last start which holds him in very good stead. #11 Nearly Fine loves the course and distance. Next best.
Race 8: Cleveland Handicap
#8 Gift Of Lifeline steps out off a favourable mark. He’s dangerous off this rating, and a return to Happy Valley should spark sharp improvement. His latest trial at the city circuit was impressive. #3 Encountered is chasing back-to-back wins. He’s in-form and does look to have plenty of rating points still in hand. #5 Master Delight mixes his form but is open to improvement. The booking of Zac Purton suggests he’s going well at home. #7 Maldives is in form and remains a huge threat. Keep safe.
Race 9: Causeway Handicap
